We have used value stream mapping, kaizen events, and process cycle time reductions to significantly reduces inventory levels for major integrated supply chain organizations. These efforts take an integrated look at process cycle time reductions, sku level reviews of demand and build an improvement plans that iteratively and incrementally reduce inventory levels as process cycle time improvements were realized. In one case in South America, we saw a reduction of nearly $30 million (US) over an 18 month period.
